MacBook Air Retina is something users want to see. However, in the Apple's keynote event on Oct. 16, it was a no-show. With a bunch of factors impeding the early launch of a MacBook Air upgrade, Apple leaves users with nevertheless equally-reliable offerings.

As of the moment, there are two MacBook Air laptops distinct by size — one with an 11-inch display, the other, 13-inch. Both can handle a good day's work while managing to look good in their sleek, impressively thin 0.68-inch-body finish.

"It won't call it a day until you do."  

That is how the Cupertino-based company describes the power of its ultraportable MacBook Air. This is nothing but an indication of Apple's continuing desire to be part of every person's busy life. Redefining their lifestyle and shaping it into something with less stress and more work done in the checklist, the 11-inch computer allows nine hours of work while the bigger sibling devotes half a day for its user.

Flash storage in the MacBook Air is promised to be 9x faster than a 5400-rpm notebook hard drive. That means everything one does in the MacBook will be seamless and painless. The 11-inch model boasts a 128 GB storage capacity while the 13-inch model sports 256 GB. The Macbook Air also runs a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processor, unique to the size of the laptop of course.

Its Intel HD Graphics 5000 processor promises a detailed display. The feel of a larger screen is achieved perfectly with its 0.19-inch-thin display. The 11-inch is at 1366 by 768 pixels whereas the 13-inch model is at 440 by 900 pixels. Nevertheless, both promise extraordinary visual prowess.

The Mac device also runs the all-new OS X Yosemite which will run programs like iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. And of course Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Maps, iBook, iTunes, the user-favorite iCloud and the Mac Store will always be intact.

The features do not end there. The MacBook Air offering sports a 720p FaceTime HD camera, a multi-touch trackpad, dual mics and a backlit keyboard.

Everything about the machine sounds delightful. It's one of the best laptop fixes one can get. Yet, people can't help but think that the potential of Mac systems is not at its fullest yet. The materialization of a Retina Air may still be realized. After all, a Retina MacBook Pro is already in existence.

The moment Intel's next-generation Broadwell chips get into the MacBook Air factory, it won't be long before users find themselves before a Retina Air announcement.
