MacBook Air 2014 release date may come really soon as previous models were offered at a discounted price.

Consumers who are not excited to get their hands on the upcoming MacBook Air with Retina Display can get the previous Apple notebooks for a lesser price. Cheaper MacBook Air models are already available in Apple's Refurbished Store.

In the store, consumers can purchase a 2013 11-inch MacBook Air for as low as $719, which is $130 less than the original price of the laptop. The laptop packs a 1.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage.

The store also offers a 2012 13-inch MacBook Air equipped with a 1.8GHz dual-core Core i5, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage for $929, which saves buyers $470 compared to the brand-new price.

Refurbished units are once defective units that were returned to Apple so that they could be fixed. The defective parts were replaced and the laptops are now good as brand new.

Meanwhile, Apple will soon release an upgraded MacBook Air packed with a powerful processor, a faster flash storage, 802.11 ac Wi-Fi connectivity as well as longer battery life of up to 12 hours.

Although the Cupertino-based company has not confirmed the specs and features of MacBook Air, it was rumored that the upcoming MacBook Air Retina will be powered by the fourth generation processors of Core i5 and i7 chips from Intel and comes with Intel HD Graphics 500, 4 GB RAM and 128 GB solid state internal hard drive.

Reliable Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo of KGI Securities added that the new MacBook Air will be "lighter and slimmer" than the current model to make it more portable. He also said that the new laptop will also pack a modified trackpad.

Reports claimed that MacBook Air with Retina Display will be released at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers' Conference (WWDC) next month alongside the mobile and desktop OS – iOS 8 and OS X 10.9. Moreover, devices such as upgraded MacBook Pro and new iMac were rumored to be showcased at the said event.
