Rumor has it that as early as the first half of next year, users will be able to lay their eyes on the long-rumored Macbook Air 2016 and the Macbook Pro 2016. New reports are hinting that the former will be out and about around March.

This is based on Apple's affinity to announce new Macbook models by spring. The Macbook Air 2016, which is expected to boast a retina display, will allegedly be made official along with the long-rumored iPad Air 3.

After three months of months, it will purportedly be the Macbook Pro 2016's turn to make its appearance. This is apparently Apple's strategy to keep the attention of customers alive, much like what it did with for the release of the iPad Pro, which was released a few months after the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were unveiled.

Interestingly, some reports are suggesting that users will get their first glimpse of the Macbook Air 2016 during the Worldwide Developers Conference, which usually takes place in June. Following Apple's plan to wait a couple of months before releasing a new Pro iteration, fans are already looking at a Q3 release for the Macbook Pro 2016.

Apple is currently mum about the existence of the new laptop iterations, making it more difficult to pinpoint a possible launch date. What the reports assure is that a new Macbook unit will be for the taking before the second half of 2016 crawls in.

As for the specs of these laptops, both the MacBook Air 2016 and the Macbook Pro 2016 are expected to house an Intel Skylake processor, which is the latest and most powerful in its lineup. It will be with an increased RAM and longer battery life.

The Macbook Air 2016 is expected to come in two variants – one with a 13-inch display and another with a 15-inch screen.
