With the MacBook Air 2016 a no-show at the Sept. 7 Apple event and with the months going by without the device getting released, rumors of its launch getting canceled are gaining even more traction. However, fans believe that the new MacBook will arrive before 2016 draws to a close.

According to Ecumenical News, it is still uncertain if Apple will host more events as of now, but the company's CEO teased that they are revamping their Mac products and some are bound to be released soon. He even went so far as to say that he loves the Mac and is thus very committed to it, and encouraged the fans to stay tuned for more updates. As such, this paved the way for more rumors that the new MacBook Pro, Air, and iMac will be announced in October.

Also, this coincides with a Bloomberg report. Its sources leaked that the Mac lineup is bound to receive a total makeover. It is also worth noting that the tech giant will not reveal all the Macs come next month. Regardless, fans can still hope that this rumor proves true, especially if they want a new Macbook to be released soon.

The MacBook Air 2016 is rumored to have the newest USB-C type port as well as an integrated Touch ID Sensor and Siri. Its other specs include the Intel Skylake for its processor and a Retina display feature. The latter has been circulating through the rumor mill for years, but as with everything known about this Macbook, it is yet to be confirmed.

However, another plausible feature for the laptop is its variants, which will come with a 13-inch and a 15-inch display. This is regular Macbook Pro sizing, and what this means is that users might not be able to avail of the 11-inch variant anymore.

In any case, more updates will be posted by October, so fans should just wait for official announcements.
