Even as June draws to a close, Japanese website Mac Otakara has predicted that Cupertino-giant is still set to unveil its MacBook Air line this June.

The report is allegedly based on information provided by a reliable Chinese supplier who revealed Apple's reported plans of discontinuing its 11 inch line and instead focusing on 13 inch and 15 inch variants of its laptops.

Taiwan's Economic Daily News on the other hand said that the MacBook Air's new line will feature redesigned internal components. While it claimed that the announcement will be made at the WWDC 2016, there was no official word released by the company. The report however maintained that the company will still launch the device within a July to September timeframe.

According to reports, after the 11 inch and 13 inch models of the Macbook Air were updated in 2015 when they received faster Broadwell processors, Thunderbolt 2, and Intel HD Graphics 6000, with the 13 inch variant getting a boost in flash storage, there will be very little change in the new version.

According to Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo, the MacBook Air 2016 is set to have a 13-inch and a 15-inch variant, instead of maintaining the 11 inch and 13 inch variants. Like the projection for the MacBook Pro, it is expected to be slimmer and lighter than its predecessors.

It is also expected to feature a Touch ID function and an OLED touch bar feature on its keyboard. Also, the device is set to include an OLED touch panel, as well as four USB-C ports.

As for the release date, it is expected to be released by August this year with the launch still being expected before the end of the month.

Based on Apple's trend, it usually makes announcements of events 10 days before the actual date so fans shouldn't be surprised that there is no official news about this yet.
