The MacBook Air 2016 seems to be in danger of being scrapped, as a lot of rumors say that the lack of updates about this device has led everyone to believe that Apple is going to focus more on the MacBook Pro instead. However, recent updates say otherwise, and the logic behind it seems pretty solid.

According to the Ecumenical News, while Apple has not announce the MacBook Air 2016 in any of its earlier events this year, it is still possible for the device to be released. After all, some insiders familiar with Apple's workings say that new Macs were not supposed to be revealed in these prior events. Instead, this tech giant based in Cupertino will most probably release its new Macs come October, where they will hopefully include the refreshed version of the MacBook Air 2016.

As such, rumors also say that the Air will undergo a slight update to make it distinct from its predecessors, mainly a USB Type-C port. Of course, this does not seem to be a big update, but the rumors went further and some say that this device's processor will be upgraded as well. The new MacBook Air is expected to get the new Intel Skylake processor, which will also be used for the MacBook Pro.

Also, according to iTechPost, the device is expected to get a slimmer body, a longer-lasting battery, and a vastly improved cooling system. Another feature worth noting is that the upcoming Air will have a fingerprint sensor that works like the TouchID.

Should this new device be released, it is expected for it to at least have a $900 and $1000 price tag for its 11-inch and 13-inch laptop variants accordingly. These rumored prices, thankfully, is within the same price range as Apple's current generation Macbook Air.

However, without any confirmation, fans can only hope that these rumors will soon become reality.
