The new models of the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro may be coming out earlier than what was previously expected.

Earlier reports, such as one from Neurogadget, did not provide a specific release date for the new laptops, but did provide possible indicators that would suggest when the new gadgets might hit the market.

According to the website, both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 2016 are going to come out once the stocks of the 2015 models in the stores begin to dwindle. Unfortunately, there's no specific or even expected time frame for when stocks of the previous models might begin to shrink. However, the latest news concerning this issue now appears to be providing indicators that the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pros might be arriving very soon.

According to the Australian Network News, there are now reports of the 2015 models of both laptops having their prices slashed recently.

Best Buy reportedly has the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro model currently on sale for $1,699. Earlier on, the same model was priced at $1,999. Another retailer, B&H Photo is also offering a $600 markdown for the MacBook Pro, although this is for the 2014 version of the Apple product.

Still, the news that some retailers have already begun slashing prices in an attempt to lure more buyers is being seen as a possible sign that Apple is indeed planning to release both 2016 versions of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro by October of this year.

The October release date has been associated to the two laptops for a while now, and there is more evidence on hand to suggest that they could be on their way.

If the two laptops do end up being released next year, that will most likely be because Apple has decided to equip both with the new Skylake chips.

The Skylake chips are not expected to be available until the latter part of this year.
