New MacBook Pro 2015 release update: Discounts signal new laptop on its way

The release of the new MacBook Pro 2015 may come soon as the current laptops are being sold at discounted prices. MacBook Pro models released last year already started getting price cuts.

The following are the MacBook Pro deals and discounts offered by various retailers.

Non-Retina MacBook Pro

The non-Retina MacBook Pro is currently offered by various sources with as much as $200 shaved off from its original price. Retailer giant Amazon offers the MacBook for $1,009 or $90 less, while B&H Photo Video offers the laptop for $999. A seller in eBay is offering a new model of the MacBook Pro for $899.99 or $199 less. A refurbished version of Apple's laptop costs $699.99 or 44 percent off the original price.

MacBook Pro with Retina display

The 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display with 2.4 GHz Intel i5, 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage is also offered with a discount. MacMall is offering the laptop for $999.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate. On the other hand, B&H Photo Video also offers the laptop for $1,049

Readers of Apple Insider can receive discounts for the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display from its sponsor MacMall by using the coupon code APPLEINSIDER01

Discounts on the current models are a clear indication that an upgraded device is on its way. Rumors say that the upcoming MacBook Pro will retain the current laptop's design and it will be powered with Intel's new Broadwell chipset. The device will also include a USB Type-C port to replace all the ports in the laptop, making it thinner and lighter than the current model.

Other purported features of the laptop are: 13-inch model with 8 GB RAM and 15-inch version with 16 GB RAM, 4K pixel resolution with touchscreen feature, TouchID fingerprint sensor in the TrackPad, and longer battery life.

There is no confirmation from Apple regarding the laptop or any of its details. Apple is also meant to update another laptop line, the MacBook Air, this year.
