The MacBook Pro will be getting a new generation model this year, and Apple fans are now clamouring over what the upcoming device's specs will be, and when the 2016 version of the Apple laptop will come out.

According to a report by MacWorld, it's likely that Apple users will be seeing both the 13-inch and the 15-inch variants sport Skylake processors, which introduce wire-free computing capabilities making the MacBook Pro even faster than before. The current models contain Broadwell and Hashwell processors, which aren't all that bad but aren't also as good as Skylake processors.

In addition, the 15-inch MacBook Pro 2016 model will also maintain their i7 processors and 16 GB of RAM. The 13-inch model will also maintain it's RAM capacity at 8 GB. The MacBook Pro will also have Force Touch trackpads, which are updated variants of the existing touch pads that allow 3D touch capabilities that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus currently sport.

It is also reported that both sizes of the MacBook Pro will have improvements to their battery life with an additional hour of battery life added to the devices. These are made possible by the new Skylake processors with the addition of battery saving capabilities in the new El Capitan OSX, which the upcoming variants are expected to launch out of the box with.

The Bit Bag states that the MacBook Pro is very much ready for an update as the last time that the device was updated was last year, and that users could be seeing a newer 2016 model of the MacBook Pro during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

MacWorld however believes that the unveiling could happen much sooner, and believes that the announcement could come sooner that the WWDC. The price range of the new MacBook Pros are pegged at around $1,299 to $1,799.
