Fans are expecting that the MacBook Pro 2016 will be launched soon. Stores have started to pull out the non-Retina models from the shelves, those with optical disc drive, which to some is an indication that something new will arrive.

Apple Insider received an anonymous tip about the older MacBook Pro being pulled out of showrooms and was able to confirm by checking out several Apple retailer stores. A clerk has also confirmed that the specific model was pulled out last week from their store, located in Austin.

All Apple stores will now be displaying Retina models only, with the exception of the MacBook Air. It is then speculated that the model will also be phased out soon. The publication even attempted to get their hands on an old MacBook Pro but was directed to a refurbished Retina model in order to save some cash if they decide to purchase the device.

The Redmond-based tech giant is speculated to reveal an updated version of the Pro laptop that would be available later this year and could possibly include an OLED touch bar, Touch ID fingerprint sensor and other upgrades.

Christian Daily reported that a portion of a code for the upcoming operating system, OS X Sierra, was uncovered and points out to some biometrics feature, though it is still unclear if it is similar to the feature on the iPhone and iPad. The touchscreen OLED bar is believed to offer users more accessibility with their apps and specific controls.

Yibada added that it is also speculated to arrive with the iPhone 7 and that both will feature a Lightning-for-audio port.

The report also mentioned that a big discount is available on the15.4-inch Retina-equipped MacBook Pro 2015 model. eBay is selling the item for US$1,929.99, that is loaded with 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage space. The laptops also comes with 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7 (Crystalwell), AMD Radeon R9 M370X Graphics (2GB GDDR5), Thunderbolt 2, USB 3.0, HDMI ports and a Force Touch Trackpad.

A similar model is available on the Apple store for US$2,499.

Fans can expect additional news about the MacBook Pro 2016 in the months to come.
