An invitation to the Apple Keynote Event on Oct. 27Apple official website

The MacBook Pro 2016 has been rumored to feature an OLED touchscreen bar. It is now rumored that it should be properly called as the Magic Toolbar.

Apple has already announced a media event will happen on Oct. 27. It is speculated that several MacBooks will be unveiled during the event, and these will include the MacBook Pro that will have the Magic Toolbar, which is an OLED touchscreen strip located above the keyboard. It will reportedly replace the whole set of function keys, and the functions displayed on it will change according to the active application. Users will see media controls when iTunes is active, while editing functions will show up when a document editing software is actively used.

Trademark Ninja was able to discover the latest addition to the "Magic" trademark name. The supporting document did not indicate if Apple applied it. In fact, a company named Presto Apps America, LLC is the legal owner of the term. However, Apple has already owned the trademarks for several names: Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, Magic Slate and Magic Trackpad.

The report also added that this particular company has spent over €16,000, or $17,550 for filing fees, which is just too much for a trademark name. Experts in the matter are convinced that Presto Apps is indeed Apple.

Additionally, the media event day is also the last day before Apple needs to apply a global trademark for "Smart Button" and "Apple Smart Button." A day after, they need to have their documents ready to apply "Touch Bar" too.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is speculated to have 13 and 15-inch models which are said to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor. It is possibly powered by the seventh-generation Intel Kaby Lake processor, which will make it faster and more power efficient. It is also likely that the latest version of the sixth-generation Skylake chip is going to be used instead.

The alleged premium laptop is also rumored to have USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports, and it will reportedly still have the 3.5 mm headphone jack

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be unveiled during the keynote event on Oct. 27 starting at 10 a.m. PDT.
