"Mad Max: Fury Road" is nearing its release, May 15, 2015 but the hype surrounding the film only continues to grow. The last trailer was recently launched on March 31 and this was followed by the film's posters unveiled during WonderCon. CinemaBlend and CheatSheet have scrutinized every detail of these materials to see any spoilers and plot indications.

The trailers show the titular character, played by Tom Hardy, as a prisoner on the run from a group of wasteland gang members. It is likely that Max gets captured by the film's villain during the film's opening and escapes right when he would meet Charlize Theron's character, Imperator Furiosa.

Scenes then shift focus to the villain Immortan Joe, played by Hugh Keays-Byrne from the first "Mad Max" film. Immortan Joe is shown owning a collection of antiques and apparently owns a harem of female slaves. As he walks into his trophy room he sees that the girls are gone and the scene shifts to reveal them running off with Furiosa in the lead.

From there CinemaBlend reports that the film evolves into one long car chase that never stops with its frantic pace. Max ends up helping Furiosa rescue the girls as they fight both Immortan Joe and his gang as well as the forces of nature.

According to CheatSheet, there is a particular shot in the trailer where Immortan Joe reveals a dome cage roof, quite similar to the one featured in "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome." It might just be an Easter egg with no real tie to the third film or it might be a precursor to the film's events.

That's because "Mad Max: Fury Road" is set as an inter-quel. Promotional images show Max with his iconic vehicle, the Interceptor which was destroyed during the events of "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior." This would place "Fury Road" before "The Road Warrior" and more than fifteen years prior to the events of "Beyond Thunderdome."
