After the shocking events that shook the life of Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) in the recent episode of "Madam Secretary," fans need to wait for more than a month to see the new developments in CBS' new political drama. 

During last night's episode titled "Chain of Commands," more political drama were featured, alongside Elizabeth's issues in the homefront. She had to deal with both at the same time. 

At work, Elizabeth had to tackle a case of granting diplomatic immunity to a Bahraini royalty accused of hostaging his Indonesian maid. Elizabeth's team was somewhat reluctant to handle this case because he is known to be very persistent and would not stop until he gets what he wants at whatever cost, but Elizabeth knew better. It turned out, Crown Prince Yuosf of Bahrain (Aasif Mandvi) and the U.S. Secretary of State know each other on a more personal level. Thus, she believed that she could handle it based on her own knowledge about the diplomat. 

Meanwhile, Elizabeth's bigger trouble was waiting at home, as her father-in-law Patrick McCord (Tom Skerritt) decided to drop by and give them a visit with just two days notice. Elizabeth's husband Henry (Tim Daly) was frantic about the visit, especially since his father gave them a lot of demands. Yet she agreed to accept him in their household because she knew that her daughter Stevie (Wallis Currie-Wood) would decide to come home to see her grandfather. 

It seems like the two plots are intertwined, since both deal with parent-child issues. Both the crown prince and Stevie were being forced to conform to their parents' demands, which they both turned down abruptly. 

Meanwhile, the plot for the upcoming episode 14 titled "Whisper of the Ax" is still under wraps at the moment. The show will have to be on a quick break until March 1 in order to give way to several important events like the AFC Championship game, the Super Bowl, the Grammys, as well as the Oscars. That is why fans of the show have to stay put until the series makes it return on television.
