Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) will have more things in her hands in the coming episode of "Madam Secretary."

Previously, Elizabeth had to fly to Turkey to fix the ailing political relationship between the U.S. and the Turkish government after a video, which could be detrimental to the CIA, was released. She also had to personally attend to the request of a mother who wanted to get the body of her dead son back from Turkey after being killed while in a mission for the CIA. The madam secretary had to attend to all these, while her own son was having his own problems in school.

Fortunately, Elizabeth was successful in bringing the dead body of the former American Army Ranger who was working for the CIA back to his mother. However, she failed to stop the coup plot that CIA Director Andrew Munsey (Patrick Breen) helped orchestrate, and U.S. President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine) could not do anything to stop the coup from happening.

Also, Elizabeth's thorough investigation about the deaths of Secretary Vincent Marsh (Brian Stokes Mitchell) and George Peters (William Sadler) resulted to the revelation of the killer, but exposing it could lead to more complications.

In the upcoming episode of the critically acclaimed political drama, Elizabeth will still be bombarded with problems that she needs to address as soon as possible.

Carter Matt posted the official synopsis for episode 16 titled "Tamerlane," which reads:

"Elizabeth secretly travels to Iran in an attempt to prevent a coup that could impact President Dalton's administration. Also, she brings her staff up to speed on the investigation into Marsh's death, on Madam Secretary, Sunday, March 15 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Anna Deveare Smith ("Nurse Jackie," "The West Wing") guest stars as Attorney General Mary Campbell."
