It looks like the anime "Made In Abyss" will not be fading into the abyss, as the show has finally been confirmed for a second season. Fans, however, are not that optimistic about the show.

"Made In Abyss" will be returning for a second season. This news has been officially announced at an event in Tokyo, according to a Twitter post of the anime's official account. In addition to the twitter announcement, fans have also flocked to the anime's Reddit thread and have confirmed the show's second season.

A video announcement from Kadokawa Shoten, one of the networks responsible for the anime, has also been released and teases developments for the upcoming season of the show, though it is in Japanese. It also shows a new armored character.

Apparently, a lot of people were surprised at the prospect, so much so that even the voice actors of the anime were shocked as they did not expect it to have a second season. In the Reddit post mentioned above, one of the fans who attended the official panel for the anime has stated that the voice actors for Regu (Mariya Ise), Riko (Miyu Tomita), and Nanachi (Shiori Izawa) were some of the most surprised cast due to the announcement. They were also allegedly unaware and were not told that a second season is being planned.

Fans were worried, however, since they fear that the ongoing source mange, Kinema Citrus, may not have enough material for the title to adapt into an anime for the second season. Many are not looking forward to the idea that the television show may have to improvise once it catches up to the current manga chapter.

This lack of sufficient gap has become a legitimate worry among manga and anime fans since it many viewers believe that once an anime veers from the source material, the quality of the show declines.

Still, fans who are excited for the second season of "Made In Abyss" will have to prolong their wait as there have been no other announcements apart from the existence of season 2.
