Man of Steel 2: Batman vs Superman movie cast rumors for Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor [VIDEO]
The Batman vs Superman movie will begin shooting in 2014 but unlike Man of Steel, which was filmed in Vancouver, the superhero flick will be filmed in Toronto, Ontario, due to better tax incentives.
Zack Snyder's Man of Steel 2 sequel will begin production in 2014, and returning cast members are Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as the Daily Planet's Editor-in-Chief Perry White.
While the main cast reprise their roles, fans are speculating on who will take on the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Christian Bale from the Dark Knight series is unlikely to take on the role, and names thrown in the rumor mill for the role include Tyler Hoechlin, Ryan Gosling, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Michael Fassbender, Jake Gyllenhaal and Chris Pine.
Hoechlin, 25, is the star of Teen Wolf and 7th Heaven. Bookies' favorite to play Bruce Wayne is Ryan Gosling and Joseph Gordon Levitt, who appeared as Batman's sidekick in the Dark Knight Rises.
According to Cosmic Book News, producers are likely to focus on finding cast that are little known, due to the fact that Henry Cavill is a newcomer. An actor playing the role of Batman would have to be of equal stature to star alongside Cavill's Superman.
The title of the Batman/Superman film has not been released but the movie is expected to premiere two years from now.
Villain Lex Luthor didn't make it to the big screen in Man of Steel and there is no confirmation on whether he will appear in the next film. However, if Luthor does appear in the Man of Steel sequel, rumors suggest that actor Mark Strong is Snyder's choice to play the part.
According to MovieWeb, Henry Cavill recently teased Clark Kent's relationship with Lois Lane and how she knows about his Superman secret.
Cavill said, "I think it's essential for Lois to know Clark's secret. Because if we're trying to base it reality, there's no way that Lois has these direct interactions with Superman, and then doesn't recognize Clark sitting next to her in the office. If she falls in love with Superman, and she's ignoring a guy who looks just like Superman, behaves just like him, and has the same kind of mannerisms and behavior, then what does that say about Lois? I like this relationship. She saves him just as much as he saves her."
