Man of Steel 2, Batman vs Superman movie script complete, filming to begin February
The Man of Steel 2 Sequel, or the Batman vs Superman movie, is ready to start production as it has been revealed that the script is finished.
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week, actress Amy Adams revealed that the script for the movie has been completed, saying "I just read the script." However, she told the late night show host, "But I cannot tell you anything."
Kimmel joked to Adams: "I don't know if I should say this, but Ben Affleck has asked me to play Robin."
Adams replied, "I think you would be great. Are you willing to put on some tights?"
Filming is expected to commence in February at the Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac, Mich. Filming for Batmobile scenes is expected to start in the summer.
The first ever Batman/Superman movie will star Man of Steel's Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman. Amy Adams will reprise her role as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as the Daily Planet's Editor-in-Chief Perry White. Gal Gadot will star as Wonder Woman. It is not known how significant Wonder Woman's role would be in the film.
There is no confirmation on who will play the role of villain Lex Luthor, although Bryan Cranston has been rumored to land the role. There are also reports that there will be more than one villain in the film other than Lex Luthor.
The Man of Steel sequel, which will be directed by Zack Snyder, will be the first film in which the DC Comics superheroes come together. Snyder said, "Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry's Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can't wait to work with him."
The movie has been scripted by David S. Goyer and is slated for release on July 17, 2015. The official title of the Batman/Superman film has not been determined as of yet.
