Man questioned in child stabbings freed

A man questioned by police about a stabbing attack that killed two children and wounded a baby has been released, Scotland Yard said on Sunday.

The 39-year-old man, believed to be the father of the three children, will face no further action, police said.

The children were found at a house in Carshalton, south of London, on Friday after police and the ambulance service were called.

Hospital officials said the six-month-old baby girl was in critical but stable condition after surgery.

Her five-year-old brother and four-year-old sister died in hospital.

A 35-year-old woman, believed to be their mother, was under arrest in hospital where she was being treated for minor injuries.
