UK's largest Christmas carol service is being organised by various community groups. Hundreds of churches and other organisers will be joining together to create a joyous occasion to unite as many people as possible to celebrate the birth of Christ.

The event will take place in Didsbury, South Manchester at St. James and Emmanuel Church. The special 'North West Sings' service will be broadcast live on BBC Radio in efforts to join together the widest range of people. BBC report that the event has the potential to allow thousands of people to come to attend the occasion.

The celebration will combine performances from celebrities such as Sir Cliff Richard, Russell Watson as well as the highly acclaimed BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

The 'North West Sings' Service is being organised by Real Christmas, which is an inter-denominational organisation that has committed itself to keeping the true spirit of Christmas alive through carol singing and praising.
