Manchester United 2015 transfer news, rumor: Still no bid being placed for Barcelona's Pedro

Manchester United have not placed any bid yet for Barcelona forward Pedro, who has been linked to a move from the Nuo Camp since his minutes dwindled last season due to the emergence of the attacking trio of Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, Lionel Messi, and Luis Suarez.

United has been linked strongly to Pedro since manager Louis Van Gaal is reportedly looking for a forward that can play alongside the likes of Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, and James Wilson.

But it looks like the Red Devils will be taking their time since the 28-year-old forward has a £22 million release clause in his contract with Barcelona.

In a report by ESPN FC, Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu said United have not tried to acquire Pedro yet.

"We have yet to receive a formal offer for Pedro," Bartomeu said. "I hope he stays because he's a fundamental player for us and even more so this season when we're playing for six titles. We need the best players we can possibly have, we'd miss his experience and quality," he added.

United is looking for attacking options since Ángel Di María's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain for £44.3 million was already completed.

Following the transfer, Di María wrote an open letter thanking everyone from Manchester United and also apologizing because despite doing his best, it did not work out the way both sides wanted it to be.

In relation to Pedro, the Daily Star reported that Manchester United are hearing from Sunderland A.F.C. manager Dick Advocaat.

Advocaat is reportedly interested in taking midfielder Adnan Januzaj via loan for the 2015–16 season if United successfully lands Pedro.

If Pedro signs with Manchester United, he will be prioritized and his experience will be a huge factor to the playing minutes that will be given to him, which means Januzaj will likely be eliminated from the Red Devils' main rotation.
