Villa opened their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth last Saturday with substitute forward Rudy Gestede making a perfect debut for the club, heading the game-sealing goal late in the second half.

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has said that fans should be excited for the club's future because of their young squad.

Sherwood also believes that Friday's match against United will be an exciting one: "They're coming here very buoyant and it's up to us to give them a performance that they deserve. That's what we need to do. We'll leave no stone unturned trying to achieve that."

Meanwhile, Manchester United also had a victorious Premier League opener beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 via own goal, but will again miss the services of goalkeeper David De Gea.

De Gea has been linked to a move to Real Madrid for some time now and United manager Louis van Gaal said that the 24-year-old Spaniard will be sitting out until the transfer window closes this September as he has struggled to keep focus through the transfer rumours.

According to reports, De Gea was distracted by the transfer talks with Van Gaal saying that he is no longer the same as he was before.

Taking De Gea's place is Sergio Romero, who had a number of crucial saves that helped United beat Tottenham.

Manchester United's new signings forward Memphis Depay and midfielders Bastian Scweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin were unable to provide impressive performances during their debut in the opener and will likely try to make an impact against Aston Villa.

But the biggest challenge for Van Gaal is improving their game away from home which proved to be a struggle for them last season.

"The key for success this season is improving in away matches. We were one of the best last season at home and I want to create a fortress at Old Trafford. We did that but away we have to improve because last year we were not good," Van Gaal said, according to The Guardian.

The match between Aston Villa and Manchester United will begin at 2:45 p.m. EDT and will be shown live on NBCSN and can be watched via live streaming at NBC Sports Live Extra.
