Mandisa shines with 'Freedom'

|PIC1|Three years ago, Mandisa Lynn Hundley was auditioning for America's favourite TV show: "American Idol". Today, Mandisa is a Grammy and Dove award nominated recording artist.

When the Lord has a plan for one's life, it goes into effect immediately for some. For Mandisa, the immediateness of her upward spiral toward success can only be attributed to her obvious true love of singing to the glory of Jesus Christ.

Mandisa's delightful and uplifting second album, "Freedom", is set for release on March 24 and begins with a bang. The first single, "My Deliverer", is an anthem for today's generation; the lyrics freely and clearly speak of the saving power of God.

"Freedom Song" is an anthem for all people who have ever been bound by anything on this earth, and set free by Christ Jesus, while "Definition of Me" is a song that every woman who truly loves Christ can confidently sing and dance to. "You wouldn't Cry" is a beautiful ballad, and speaks of the wonders of God and how he works with magnificence.

Mandisa has an encouraging sound that every person can relate to and the emotion and truth of this young woman's love for God comes through her art of her song; this is wonderful to witness.

I would advise anyone interested in a 21st century worship album, which appeals to all senses and emotions, to pick up Mandisa's latest album, "Freedom".

The scripture that comes to mind at the conclusion of this review of Mandisa and her new album, "Freedom," is Proverbs 31:30-31.

"Charm is deceptive and beauty is in vain, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her the product of her hands, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
