As of the moment, Netflix has not yet given the go signal for the third season of the highly popular historical drama television series, "Marco Polo."

Despite this, fans are adamant in their belief that the show would have its third season green lit very soon. The majority of the claims are based on the immense success of its two previous seasons, which was announced by Parrott Analytics as the second most-watched show amongst all the original television series.

The series itself follows the lives of Marco Polo, played by Lorenzo Richemy, and his encounter with the Mongolian warlord, Kublai Khan, played by Benedict Wong. The show is also hailed as one of the most expensive television series productions in the world, second only to HBO's "Game of Thrones."

A recent interview with actress Joan Chen — who plays the Empress Chabi — revealed that she is very much excited to reprise her role in the next season. Even though Netflix hasn't given the go signal yet, the actress is apparently already preparing herself to get back into her role as the Khongirad empress consort of the Yuan dynasty.

According to the latest spoiler reports, the third season of the show might be introducing a legendary historical character whose prominence spread throughout the Asian and European world from the 12th through the 17th century. The second season finale episode also teased of his existence, and now rumor reports are claiming that Kublai and Marco may be facing Prester John, also known as "The Hand of God," in the upcoming new season.

The new obstacle to the Mongolian empire's expansion will certainly be something that the emperor cannot easily overcome. The legendary Christian patriarch apparently has some mysterious power which has thus far enabled him to crush his enemies during their conflicts.

"Marco Polo" season 3 is expected to be released sometime in 2017.

More recently, I’ve enjoyed Christian movies Unsung Hero and Jesus Revolution on limited release in the UK, but it’s rare for such films to make the multiplex chains.
