Shortcuts are not entirely new to "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" for the Nintendo Switch. That is because these have long existed since the start of the franchise. It has always played an integral role in the series.

According to Digital Trends, as each series progresses, change is inevitable. Shortcuts have become, in one way or another, less pronounced. Simply put, they are not as significant as they were before. Apparently, this is exactly what is happening in "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe."

In the latest iteration, players aren't likely to find a certain path that allows them to cut down a track's length easily. However, whether they agree or not, there are still a number of less-travelled points of interest that are worth checking out. After all, they can help players finish the competition way ahead.

First on the list is the Bone-Dry Dunes in "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe." Players will just have to perform a stunt while they go off the sand geyser in order to reach the wooden path. It is worth noting that the latter can be found along the top of the cave.

Next is Cheese Land #1. The first thing to do is come out of the very first wide turn of the said "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" track. There, players will see a cheese dome offtrack just exactly to their right. They simply have to boost through the opening so as to skip the wide bend.

Moving forward is the Cloudtop Cruise. Here, "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" players will just have to drift into a giant leaf before the very last turn. They will then have to hop onto the second one and utilize the stunt boost to dash across the finish line.

Obviously, the aforementioned are not just the well-known shortcuts in "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe." In fact, Polygon has managed to list them all along with their respective explanations. From there, players will understand how the likes of the Dry Dry Desert and Royal Raceway work, among others.
