"Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" is making huge waves following its launch on the Nintendo Switch. Apparently, the title is still dominating the U.K. game chart, holding the first spot in its second week of release. Judging by its performance, "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" is likely to lead the pack for a couple of days more.

According to Eurogamer, "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" finished the week in first place in the aforementioned chart and has been there for two weeks already. It held off the newly released title "Prey," which then landed the second spot. The Nintendo Switch racer is looking to dominate even more in the next few days.

It is worth noting that the U.K. game chart only records physical sales of games. So, in a sense, a bulk of the data it acquired is related to console sales. As for "Prey," sales performance can be connected to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Interestingly, the game's current number of owners in Steam is sitting at 100,000.

Landing at third place is Rockstar Games' "Grand Theft Auto 5," which continues to make an impact despite being in the market for a couple of years already. This is then followed by Activision's "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" and Warner Bros.' "Lego World" on the fourth and fifth ranks, respectively. Unfortunately for "Forza Horizon 3," it is the last in the top 10.

It is safe to say that "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" is one of the highly celebrated titles for the Nintendo Switch. When it was first released on the Wii U, it managed to acquire more than eight million followers, as reported by Kotaku. Nevertheless, the popular game has its own share of issues.

Just recently, reports have it that tons of players are complaining about being logged out of the game. It has been discovered that Nintendo's peer-to-peer system is unstable, causing disconnections while in multiplayer mode. The studio has iterated its plans to fix this ongoing problem.
