Unfortunately for the fans of the game franchise "Marvel vs. Capcom," the producer of the latest installment of the game has revealed on Twitter that there are no plans yet for the rumored "Marvel vs. Capcom 4."

He even went so far as to say that he and his team would want to see it done, but some circumstances prevent them from doing so.

According to Game Rant, 2016 has been a good year for fighting games. Avid gamers received a lot of solid titles like "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," "Mortal Kombat X," and more.

However, fans are still waiting for a new "Marvel vs. Capcom" game because it has been half a decade since the last installment of the franchise was released. As such, a lot of people are speculating about the upcoming release of a sequel.

Unfortunately, Ryota Niitsuma — the producer for "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" — went to Twitter first and foremost to thank the loyal fans of the franchise for their dedication and interest in the game. It is worth noting that he himself would love to see the rumors become a reality, but sadly nothing is happening right now.

And if there is any indication from the past games, fans will most likely not see Marvel vs. Capcom 4"  for years.

This is exemplified by the gap between "Marvel vs. Capcom 2" and the third game in the franchise. It took 11 years before "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" was released. It is possible that the delay will be shorter, though, as the reason behind the decade-long hiatus was a shift from 2D to 3D. With this, fans can hope that the technical aspect of the game's development will not last that long.

Meanwhile, Uproxx reports that a lot of fans are thinking that the leaked images for the upcoming "Marvel vs. Capcom 4" game are fake. They still gave the leak the benefit of the doubt as most players are hoping for another installment in one of their favorite crossover fighting game franchises.
