Now that Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter's (Nick Blood) "Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D" spinoff "Marvel's Most Wanted" has been canned by ABC, fans are inclined to ask if they will ever show up in the parent series again.

When the two left in the season 3 finale, it felt like it was final and permanent. But now that Bobbi and Hunter's journey to "Most Wanted" had been cut short, what's next for the duo appears to still be up in the air.

During the MCM London Comic Con, Blood was coy about their possible involvement in "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4. The actor simply quipped via Digital Spy, "If I did know anything... I couldn't tell you!"

Back in March, showrunner Jeff Bell talked to IGN about the episode that marked the exit of Bobbi and Hunter. When asked about the possibility of the characters coming back, he hinted it is possible.

"Not that you can't bring them back someday or have someone from S.H.I.E.L.D. show up on ["Most Wanted"], but it's really setting up a different universe," Bell said.

The tricky part now is how their return will be handled. Bell did hint that the duo's absence will impact the team.

In other related news, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 is shaping up to be the boldest of the series yet. Cast member Elizabeth Henstridge, also gushed about the show's different tone this season during the MCM London Comic Con.

"I think we've got progressively darker each season and it's great to be able to push those boundaries a little bit," Henstridge, who plays the role of bio-chemist and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jemma Simmons.

"I think the writers are excited, because they'll be able to maybe get a little bit sexy... throw in some good swearing," the actress went on to tease about "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 is set to premiere this fall.
