Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) may be moving to sunny Los Angeles in Marvel's "Agent Carter" season 2, but it seems like not everyone will be feeling the heat this season.

In the promo trailer for the return of the action-adventure drama set in the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe, Peggy will have to leave New York to focus on the dangers looming in the new atomic age in post-World War II.

The warmth of California looks good on the steadfast SSR agent. But the trailer shows that Peggy will discover a still-unidentified man who is completely frozen in ice. This makes her believe that the case that she has to work on in The Golden State could be harder than she originally thought.

Peggy will also face several new villains in "Agent Carter" season 2. They include the popular siren named Whitney Frost, who is the alter-ego of the scientific genius named Madame Masque. The character will be portrayed by "The Newsroom" star Wynn Everett.

The rest of SSR will also move to California to help Peggy deal with the post-war crimes in the state, including the cocky Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) and charming Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj). Peggy will also be reunited with the witty Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy), whose rich and powerful boss Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) will also drop by in the upcoming season. Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan), Peggy's long-running rival, will also appear when the series returns early next year.

Fans of the series will also meet several additional characters in "Agent Carter" season 2, including Jarvis' wife Ana (Lotte Verbeek), Whitney's rich businessman husband Calvin Chadwick (Currie Graham), as well as the eccentric scientist named Jason Wilkes (Reggie Austin) who might be Peggy's new love interest this season.
