'Marvel's Agent Carter' season 2 renewed or cancelled? Fans demand show's renewal

ABC

The season finale of "Marvel's Agent Carter" had been aired back in February, but fans are still left in the dark about ABC's plans for the show's future.

Early this week, E! News reported that Agent Carter reached the semi-final round of the entertainment news site's annual "Save One Show" campaign this year. It is currently neck-to-neck with another fan-favorite show, "Hart of Dixie" from The CW.

The Hayley Atwell-starred show centers on the life of Strategic Scientific Reserve officer Peggy Carter as she struggles to gain respect in her male-dominated office while secretly working for multi-millionaire Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) to prove his innocence.

The show is now pitted against the Rachel Bilson-top billed series, which is also in limbo after airing its last episode for season 4 during the last week of March.

At the moment, there are very limited reports coming out about the fate of the show.

The latest statement from Atwell was made during the 2015 Jameson Empire Awards in the UK back in March, where the actress presented the award for the best Male Newcomer of the year.

Even though the actress did not offer any news about the renewal of the show, Atwell mentioned during that time that the eight-episode season one of Marvel's Agent Carter could possibly air in the UK soon.

"I think it will later on in the year," the actress who portrays Agent Carter shared. "There is a really chance that the UK is going to get it. There must be a slight bidding war for the channel at the moment. Fingers crossed it won't be too long."

Fans are still waiting if Atwell and her co-stars James D'Arcy, Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, and Shea Whigham will return to reprise their roles for the sci-fi action adventure series will return for another season.
