ABC has revealed the airdate of the two-hour special finale of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3.

The network stated that the two-hour special will air on Tuesday, May 17. According to the press release shared by The Futon Critic, "It's a showdown a season in the making as S.H.I.E.L.D. takes on Hive. With Hive's master plan finally revealed, the team must spring into action. Who will live and who will die?"

While the network is still mum regarding the plot of the upcoming season 3 finale, speculations claim that the episode will shed light on the mystery of the exploding ship featured during the midseason premiere. It could possibly showcase an explosive showdown between the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and the budding Inhuman army developed by Hydra.

Meanwhile, more exhilarating revelations are coming in the upcoming episode, titled "Spacetime."

Based on the trailer for the episode, the agents will see the supposedly dead Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) via a security camera. But while everyone will be surprised to see him alive, Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) seems to know the real reason why the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent reappeared.

The trailer also shows that Daisy (Chloe Bennet) will see a glimpse of the future. This could affect her job as an agent because of her sudden inclination toward inhumans.

"There are going to be some issues," the actress told Entertainment Weekly. "There's something that happens that kind of gets her out of it, but I don't know what to say. It's crazy though. It might be one of the crazier things that's happened."

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

"When Daisy gets a horrifying glimpse of the future, S.H.I.E.L.D. races to prove that fate is not fixed."

The episode, airing on ABC on Tuesday, April 5, is also expected to show Melinda May's (Ming-Na Wen) search for her former husband.
