Hive (Brett Dalton) may be dead, but the job of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents is not yet over as they appear to run after one of their own when "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns for season 4.

In the time jump featured in the third season finale, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s resident Inhuman, Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet), rebelled, with all the newspapers in town documenting her bad actions as Quake. The finale episode also showed that Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Mack (Henry Simmons) had to run after her to stop her from turning bad.

Series co-creator Joss Whedon explained to IGN that probably because of what happened to her friend Lincoln Campbell (Luke Mitchell), Daisy started to feel that being on a team is a bad idea. This could turn her back into being a loner, just what she was when she first joined the agency.

But because of her decision to be separate from the team, Daisy might be doing something that the agency may not approve of.

"Yes, she's doing some questionable things but, as we see from her interaction with Charles Hinton's wife and daughter, she's still trying to make good on her promise to protect Inhumans and more importantly, make good on what Lincoln at the end says. 'I believe you're meant for more than this,'" the series co-creator said.

But Whedon believes that Daisy will do everything to make sure that Lincoln's sacrifice will not go to waste without thinking about her own.

"I think she feels like she has nothing to lose, so those two things make an interesting combination," he stated.

Aside from Daisy's new identity, fans of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will find out who replaced Coulson as the new director of the agency. But Whedon and series co-creator Melissa Tancharoen refused to give out hints about the identity of the new director in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 is expected to return to ABC this fall.
