Marvel's much hyped "Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D" will premiere tonight on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.

The  highly anticipated series premiere will be available to watch online on ABC's site here.

The Facebook page for the new series has already reached one million Facebook fans yesterday. This figure is believed to be a record for any new series prior to its launch.

The television series is created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa tancharoen, based on the Marvel Comics organization S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division).

Clark Gregg will be reprising his role as Phil Coulson, the character that was killed off in last year's "The Avengers" movie. Coulson is miraculously resurrected and alive in the series and will in fact be headlining the series as he puts together a small team of super agents to handle strange new cases, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.

The cast and characters of the show are as follows:

Ming-Na Wen – Agent Melinda May, ace pilot and weapons expert

Brett Dalton: Agent Grant Ward, black ops specialist

Chloe Bennet: Skye, computer hacker

Iain De Caesetecker: Agent Leo Fitz, weapons technology specialist

Elizabeth Henstridge: Agent Jemma Simmons, life science specialist
