'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 3 spoilers: Adrianne Palicki talks about rise of female superheroes

A look at what's going to happen in season 3 of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.Marvel

Fans of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will only have to wait for a few weeks before they see what happens in the popular series.

The major storylines happening this season, according to iSchool Guide, will deal with the Secret Warriors, Quake, the Inhumans, and more of Hydra. Last season already included an introductory of sorts to the Inhumans, and perhaps, a teaser of how big Marvel's "Civil War" is going to be, encompassing even the TV series.

This season will also see Skye — now known as Agent Daisy Johnson or Quake — leading a group of young people whose powers are developing, just as hers is.

Daisy Johnson, whose powers as Quake comes about because she is now technically an Inhuman, has grown a lot from being "a homeless and brilliant hacker" into the agent and leader that she is now. With the Secret Warriors coming into the picture, Daisy Johnson stands to become even more than she currently is.

This new season is also weighing heavily on actress Adrianne Palicki's mind, according to an interview with Den of Geek. Palicki plays Mockingbird, who is one of the female superheroes on the team.

Palicki said that this season is big for a lot of losses — Coulson has lost his arm, while others are dealing with the loss of a physical ability or perhaps lost people trying to find a leader. Palicki also commented on the supposed rise of female superheroes and their having a bigger role in TV shows and movies.

"I mean, all of these women, especially on Agents of SHIELD, not only just Mockingbird but all the females on SHIELD they're the ones who kick a**," she said. "All these women are kicking a** and I feel like it's becoming more and more prevalent and men want to see that, not only women."

Perhaps people will see if the evolution of women superheroes will continue as "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 premieres on Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. ET.
