The reviews for the superhero action-drama "Marvel's Runaways" have come in, which generally praised the show for capturing believable teenage angst against a backdrop of mystery and superpowers.

The upcoming series from veteran showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage received a high 92 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes, which is a site that aggregates movie scores from different entertainment outlets. Here are what some of the reviewers had to say.

Kevin Yeoman from Screen Rant said, "A show that plays entirely in Schwartz and Savage's well-established wheelhouse, mixing teen angst and all the difficulties associated with growing up, with the more traditional aspects of a superhero narrative." Schwartz and Savage are known for their work on "Gossip Girl," "The O.C.," and "Chuck." These shows dealt with tough times that teenagers had to go through, and even the parents who experienced them as well.

"Runaways" is similar to those shows except that the kids in this one have superpowers. The high school kids namely Chase Stein (Gregg Sulkin), Molly Hernandez (Allegra Acosta), Gert Yorkes (Ariela Barer), Alex Wilder (Rhenzy Feliz), Nico Minoru (Lyrica Okano), and Karolina Dean (Virginia Gardner) witness their parents perform a human sacrifice which turns their lives upside-down. They realize later that they possess powers and abilities that were passed down to them from their parents.

Matt Webb Mitovich from TV Line stated, "'The Breakfast Club' meets 'X-Men' with a splash of 'Stranger Things' thrown in, 'Marvel's Runaways' is the richest, best-realized Marvel drama of the new TV season." There are plenty of questions that need to be answered, apparently. It remains to be seen why the parents are making human sacrifices and if their kids will be able to stop them, otherwise, run away from them.

"Marvel's Runaways" is set to premiere on Tuesday, Nov. 21 on the Hulu streaming service.
