"Mass Effect 4" is currently in the works but no one really knows what the game is all about except, of course, Bioware, but the game studio won't say anything solid about the title. Folks at the company, however, do like to update fans about what's going on in the development process.

But if there's one thing fans are most boggled about, it is the question of what "Mass Effect 4" really is. Development director for the franchise Chris Wynn, unfortunately, did not reveal what it exactly is but he made clear that the upcoming game is "not a prequel [and] not necessarily a sequel either."

Fans will have to wait to see for themselves what the game really is all about, but what the game studio has so far revealed is that the title has "beauty" worth marveling at.

Wynn also refused to talk about the official title of the new "Mass Effect" game. It seems like Bioware won't be going for "Mass Effect 4," which media outlets and gamers coined since the upcoming installment is the fourth one in the franchise.

As for the maps of the game, Wynn provided a morsel of info, saying that the interplanetary new adventure is "a balance in how you travel across the maps vs their size."

Another Twitter user hoped to know more about "the story, characters, lore, planets, worlds and choices" but Wynn only responded by saying that "we have all of that," avoiding spilling details about these aspects.

Even though Bioware's fists are tight when it comes to specifics about "Mass Effect 4," the game studio will be as generous as it can get when it steps onto the Electronic Entertainment Expo center stage, where it is expected to reveal new fine points about the highly-anticipated game.
