It seems like BioWare is doing everything it can in order to make the upcoming "Mass Effect: Andromeda" game less linear and more exploration-based compared to the previous installments in the franchise. As such, the game will have a lot of sidequests in order to encourage non-linear gameplay and exploration.

According to Gaming Bolt, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will have a plethora of side activities which includes loyalty missions that can serve as a means of fleshing out the gamr's characters and giving fans of the franchise insight into their backgrounds.

However, these sidequests are optional as they do not really impact the ending of the game. Players can also explore the planets' surfaces with their Nomads as well as tracking down drop zones, destroying enemy bases, fighting epic bosses, and scanning planets.

As such, the critical path will have less emphasis in the game. In "Mass Effect: Andromeda," the map will not mark everything out so the player can just simply follow their own paths.

Instead, the world BioWare created will be one where the player can just stumble upon another event while doing something else entirely, rather than getting propelled to a host of meaningless side quests.

The Bit Bag expounds on the possible activities to be undertaken in the game, especially for the enemy bases. BioWare's Mike Gamble reveals that the areas are going to be pretty tough to subdue, so when approaching one, players will need to be prepared for a prolonged battle. Conquering bases can be still be pretty fun, especially once the alarms start going off after alerting too many enemies.

As for the boss fights, the huge bosses are optional and can be taken down for an epic battle. Of course, it goes without saying that the fights will award more XP and some other goodies players can use in-game. Players have the option to backtrack planets just to fight these huge bosses and each battle will be interesting every time.
