Bioware released a brand-new trailer for "Mass Effect: Andromeda" during the E3. The trailer is both a behind-the-scenes clip showcasing the staff working on the game and detailing what their goals are while also showcasing several gameplay elements and story segments from the game.

Aaryn Flynn, the Bioware studio manager, gave the presentation and promised that this game would give even more freedom than any of the previous titles. A large reason for this is the Frostbite engine which was used in building the game. 

Clips from the trailer showcase a brand-new ship called the Tempest, which a report from Screen Rant speculates is what will bring the player out of the Milky Way to the Andromeda Galaxy, a place where humans will be considered as the aliens. A more powerful version of the Mako is also shown as well as glimpses at some of the game's enemies.

It is also stated that the game will retain the three-man squad system from previous titles, which is going to be a welcome return for fans of the franchise. The footage also shows that the game will have a slightly different camera style and the action is the main focus of the game although it will retain RPG elements that has made the series popular.

Bioware has also revealed via Twitter that the main protagonist of the game is indeed Ryder. This is the character's last name as players are free to give a first name, as well as choose between playing a male or female. 

Speaking to IGN, creative director Mac Walters explained that the romance mechanics of the game are being tweaked.

"In the past we've been very, eh, I'd say somewhat formulaic in the way we presented them. We're trying to look at more organic ways to have those relationships evolve."
