Sony recently held a media event where it officially announced the PlayStation 4 Pro, an upgraded video game console, and game developer Bioware was there to show-off what their "Mass Effect: Andromeda" can offer with a powerful hardware at hand.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" will have a 4K treatment when it arrives next year for the upgraded console. The high level of visuals for the open-world game will offer a different gaming experience, which will make even the smallest details highly stunning. The high dynamic range (HDR) lighting gives more depth to the environment, which also makes it more immersive than ever before. Aaryn Flynn, General Manager at Bioware made the presentation during the event.

GameSpot added that fans could expect that the game will be able to have a better performance when it gets released. It is still in its pre-alpha build and further optimization could still happen to the game.

Gamers are also looking forward to the "N7 Day" of the game, happening on Nov. 7. The announcement was posted on Twitter, with a caption, "The journey to Andromeda begins... #MassEffect." More game related information is expected to be announced during the upcoming event.

Meanwhile, Bioware is also running a contest where fans could be a part of the upcoming game by simply lending their voices. There are two minor character roles, and their scripts are available for download from the contest page. Aspiring contestants will then need to upload their recordings and inform the company of their entries. The contest proper will end on Sept. 28 at 6:59 a.m. GMT, and the potential winner will be informed on Nov. 30. A professional recording session will happen next for the winner.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is scheduled to be released sometime in the first quarter of 2017, but no exact date has been announced so far. It will be available for the PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
