UFC news 2015: Max Holloway looks beyond UFC Fight Night 74 triumph

Max Holloway may still be savoring his victory over Charles Oliveira but seems to be looking forward to his next fight. The question now, though, is who?

Holloway registered his seventh consecutive win over Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 74 via first round total knockout. The win was, of course, somehow aided by the fact that Oliveria suffered an unfortunate injury early in the fight. Regardless though, a win is a win and Holloway is moving forward.

There are two names currently up in the air. One is Frankie Edgar, a former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champ whom he would be open to facing off with right in his own turf in Hawaii. But the thing is — will the UFC be open to holding a match in Hawaii? Holloway believes that in the UFC, anything is possible; and if Dana White pulls off the right strings, it could happen.

At just 23, Holloway is rolling. He becomes the youngest fighter to earn 10 wins at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada but it seems that success hasn't spoiled him just yet.

Apparently, he knows that he still has a lot to learn, a humble admittance that should speak well for the rising UFC fighter. But it cannot be denied that like most fighters, Holloway is bound to get a crack and possibly win the title at some point.

Going over the opponents he has to face, such is apparent why he believes he has to put in more effort and improve. With big names like Jose Aldo and Connor McGregor in the way, the path towards being a UFC champ is certainly not an easy route.

Could he be primed for a title match with the winner of the Aldo vs. McGregor tiff this December?

Of the two, McGregor is no stranger to Holloway. He has faced him before and lost via decision. But a rematch sounds pretty interesting, although much would depend on the top honchos atop the UFC circle.
