The mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is still highly unlikely to happen, especially from Money May's standpoint. While recent reports say that the super bout may happen in Dubai, Mayweather hasn't shed any detail about this, nor has he spoken about his interest on fighting Pacquiao in the future. 

Nonetheless, Mayweather did mention Pacquiao's name in his Showtime interview last Friday. This could be a step in the right direction, but not really confirming if everyone should start making their travel arrangements. 

In the interview, Mayweather mentioned Pacquiao only to put all the blame on Pacman's promoter Top Rank CEO Bob Arum. According to Mayweather, the failure in the negotiations is due to Arum and not once did he accept fault on his part. 

He also said that he is no longer willing to give Pacquiao $40 million for the fight because the latter has already lost twice since he made that offer. However, what Mayweather is failing to see is the amount the fight will earn. For sure, it will more than triple his earnings in his fights under Showtime, given how the boxing world has been anticipating the super bout for years. 

But what's more apparent in the interview was how Showtime asked him softball questions, instead of asking him directly about what happened to Earl Hayes and Stephanie Moseley. It was clear that Showtime was really protecting their asset. 

As for Pacquiao, the fighter has consistently expressed his interest on making the fight happen. He has said in the past that if it's the fight that the fans want, he is willing to give it. On the other hand, Mayweather has not failed to dodge questions about this fight and come negotiation time, he keeps making requests that will eventually lead to the negotiations failing. 

Is Mayweather really dodging a fight with Pacquiao? If he is, or he isn't, a fight on May 2, 2015 looks bleak.
