Keith Thurman has been open about trash-talking Amir Khan, even though the British southpaw is far from even considering him as a possible opponent.

Apparently, the two used Thurman's recent bout against Luis Collazo as a gauge to see who was the better fighter; and if one recalls Thurman's victory in the said bout, it was pretty far from impressive. It hardly convinced Khan and most especially Floyd Mayweather Jr. who he was hoping would notice.

At the said match, which took place at Premier Boxing Champions by ESPN last July 12, 2015, a hard shot from Collazo in the fifth round was the highlight that left many unimpressed with the supposed rising star of boxing.

Of course Thurman still managed to come out a winner after the match was halted with just one second in the eighth round due to a cut. If not for that, many believe Thurman could not have easily won the fight.

As far as gaining Mayweather's attention, it may be far from happening. In his mind, Thurman believes that he deserves a shot at the undefeated American boxer, although it seems that may never happen even if Floyd Jr. goes on to fight until 2016.

For one, Mayweather is lined up against many high profile fighters who will, of course, rack in the dollars. As Khan stressed some days back, Thurman is far from being a lucrative fighter to face.

Mayweather did have an ideal opponent for Thurman — Errol Spence. But for Thurman, he believes that facing Mayweather's pawn would have been ok if it were done years ago.

As it stands, a Mayweather vs. Thurman fight may never happen as Floyd is expected to wind up his career – if not this year, then maybe in 2016.

How about Amir Khan? Well Khan did say via Sport360 that he "might consider" fighting Thurman next year.
