Meizu M1 Note vs Meizu M2 Note specs comparison: what's the same, what's different?

Chinese company Meizu Technology made available its new Meizu M2 Note smartphone through several online retailers this month. The Meizu M2 Note is the successor to the Meizu M1 Note, which was released last January.

Meizu Technology specified the differences in specs and features of the two handsets.

Both phones have the same 5.5 inch IGZO display screen with 1080 x 1920 resolutions. While the Meizu M1 Note comes with the older Android 4.4 KitKat operating system pre-installed, the new Meizu M2 Note runs on the new Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.

Both phones also come with the same 13 mega pixel camera on the back and 5 mega pixel camera in front.

Regarding features, both phones include face detection, touch focus, HDR and panorama capabilities.

Under the hood, the Meizu M1 Note is powered by the Mediatek MT6752 processor, while the Meizu M2 Note comes with the slightly different Mediatek MT6753 chipset. Both phones pack 2 GB RAM and up to 32 GB internal memory storage.

Users can expand the internal memory storage of the Meizu M2 Note to 128 GB by using a microSD card, while the M1 Note has no card slot.

The Meizu M2 Note is powered by a non-removable 3100 mAh battery, while the Meizu M1 Note has a slightly larger 3140 mAh battery. Colors available for the M1 Note are white, blue, pink, yellow and green, and for the M2 Note, white, blue, metallic grey and pink.

According to reports, the M2 Note is available for pre-ordering through online stores such as Gearbest, Pandawill and Oppomart. Deadline for pre-ordering is on July 5.
