Chinese phone manufacturer Meizu has recently released their new flagship smartphone — the Meizu M5 — and with it comes an impressive set of specs that users can enjoy at a lower cost than other devices from competing brands.

The Meizu M5 comes with a bigger screen than its M3 predecessor. The Meizu M5 now sports a 5.2-inch 1280x720 2.5D beveled glass display. The device also boasts a mTouch 2.1 fingerprint scanner that is capable of being triggered within 0.2 seconds.

Furthermore, the Chinese company decided to create two variants for the M5, one that has 16 GB of storage coupled with 2 GB of RAM, and another with 32 GB of storage coupled with 3 GB of RAM. Both variants will be powered by a 1.5GHz Mediatek MT6750 octa-core processor.

Despite the medium capacity storage that the device offers, the Meizu M5 still has a microSD slot for memory expansion. What's more is that the microSD slot can also double as a second SIM card slot for users with multiple SIMs.

As for the device's camera, the Meizu M5 will come out of the box with a 13-megapixel rear camera supported by dual LED flash and phase detection autofocus, couple with a 5-megapixel front facing camera for selfies.

Furthermore, the Meizu M5 will be powered by a 3,070 mAh capacity battery, and will be using the Meizu FlyMe user interfaced backed up by the Alibaba Yun 5.1 operating system.

The Meizu M5 will be available in Matte Black, Mint Green, Blue, Champagne Gold, and White. Unlike the other versions of the Meizu M5, the Matte Black and Mint Green colored phones will have special features. The Matte Black Meizu M5 will have a scratch-and fingerprint resistant surface, while the Mint Green Meizu M5 will have a long lasting color due to its special UV coating.

The Meizu M5 is now available in China with prices ranging from $103 up to $132 USD.
