The rumor mills were on the money about Meizu MX5's release after all. The Chinese manufacturer sent out a unique press invite for the big event and is set to officially lift the veil off its hottest smartphone offering on June 30, the same day that was speculated it would happen. 

Meizu hints that the MX5 will come in a "full metal jacket" by making the invite feel like a poster of the 1987 classic film "Full Metal Jacket." The rumor mills were right about this aspect, too. In turn, this makes the smartphone the first from the company to don a metal chassis. 

Meizu touts that the device is "born to kill" — competitors' flagships, that is. The Meizu MX5 packs a set of impressive specs, which were revealed through persistent leaks and rumors about the handset.

The device will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display that will render a 1080p resolution. It will allegedly be equipped with a MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) processor for power and performance. Some say Meizu will utilize the Exynos 7420 chipset from Samsung. 

Its 3 GB RAM should make the Meizu MX5 as snappy as users will want it to be. There will also be 16 GB of storage where users can install their favorite games, apps, important files, and pictures they will take with its 20-megapixel rear-facing shooter and 3-megapixel front-facing camera. 

It is worth mentioning that there are also speculations that the Meizu MX5 will be outfitted with a massive 41-megapixel snapper made by Nokia, a rumor instigated by another rumor that claims the two companies are collaborating on something. 

The device, according to speculations, will be kept alive by a hefty 3150 mAh battery and will run the latest version of Meizu's very own Flyme OS on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop. 

Whether or not this rumor-driven specs sheet is accurate, users will find out on June 30.
