The Memphis Grizzlies made it to the second-round of the playoffs this season and one of the players that helped them reached that far, center Marc Gasol, is about to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Through the years, Gasol has proven that he is one of the most skilled and versatile big men in the league putting him on top of each team's list this coming free agency.

Despite being linked to a number of teams including the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks also expressing his interest with the San Antonio Spurs, the 30-year-old said in a radio interview in Spain that the Grizzlies are on top of his list.

"The reality for me at the moment is Memphis. I got there when I was 16 and I'm 30 years old. It's important for me, personally and in sports terms," Gasol said.

"I'm in front of an important decision for the upcoming 4 or 5 years. I'll take it quietly, without drama. There are many things to evaluate: personal goals, the ring...," he added.

The two-time All-Star also made comparisons with his upcoming free agency and his brother Pau Gasol's free agency when he left the Los Angeles Lakers and joined the Chicago Bulls.

"My brother had other needs. People with sons knows how this works," Gasol stated. "I don't have time to go to the opera, or to the theater. New York is nice but it was very cold during the All Star Game. San Antonio, L.A, Atlanta... there's good things everywhere.

"I have a simple life: at home, the arena, the supermarket. Memphis is quiet. In Fort Yukon, Alaska, I would also be happy," Gasol added during the interview.

More likely Gasol will stay with the Grizzlies and become the face of the franchise together with point guard Mike Conley.
