Swedish metal band Amon Amarth is usually known for their songs about Norse mythology, but this time they decided to try something a little different. Instead of brand new album, the band recently released the mobile game "Amon Amarth." Similar to their songs, the game's focal point will be in Norse mythology.

In "Amon Amarth" players will take on the role of Thor as he battles against mystical creatures. According to video game news website Game Spot, the game will reportedly feature an 8-bit music rendition of 13 of the band's songs that were altered to fit the game in all its pixelated glory.

The enemies will be creatures from Norse mythology, and some of the confirmed enemies are Surtur the devil with the flame sword, Fenris a monstrous wolf, Hel the woman who presides over hell, and Nidhogg the serpent at the root of the world tree. Aside from being able to wield the power of lightning and thunder, players will also be able to use Thor's signature hammer Mjolnir to battle against his foes.

A press release on Metal Blade Records gave additional information on "Amon Amarth"

As Thor, the players' main goal will be to cleanse and protect Midgard from the creatures threatening it.

The game will reportedly feature "four worlds, four epic battles, 12 unique levels" alongside Amon Amarth's music. The game will be available for iOS and android phones and can be purchased for $8.99.

The game's launch trailer was uploaded to GameSpot Mobile's YouTube channel on Nov. 21. Roughly 30 seconds in length, the trailer gave fans a glimpse of the game's character art, level design, and monster design. It also showed fans how the game would operate from the simple controls to a glimpse of some of the boss battles to come.

The game is now available for purchase on the Google Play Store and App Store.
