"Metal Gear Online" is about to get bigger and better with a truckload of new content dropping on the online multiplayer next month. Players will be treated to new maps to explore and a new playable character in the form of Quiet.

A "Metal Gear" online community manager says the character is "super powerful" and comes with her Butterfly sniper rifle aka her signature weapon when she arrives in "Metal Gear Online." She also has the ability conceal herself during combat.

The female sniper will be available in the Unique Character mission toggled on. "Metal Gear Online" players will be getting random chances in playing as Quiet, much like how it works for Venom Snake and Revolver Ocelot.

Apart from the new playable character, the DLC for the online multiplayer counterpart of "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" will also be bringing along three brand new maps – Azure Mountain, Coral Complex and Rust Palace.

The first one is simply one big wasteland, peppered with rock outbreaks that can be useful for cover during combat. The second one brings the action to the ocean. The location poses the challenge of figuring out when it is appropriate to go high or low on the ground.

The third and final map is a multiple-level building erected in the desert. All three maps are sure to throw in big challenges for "Metal Gear Online" players to keep the action and fun going.

The DLC will also add four new sets of emotions called Appeal Actions in the game, which will aid players in customizing a character. All these will be packaged into the March DLC but Konami is yet to pick out a specific release date as well as pricing.

Apart from this big expansion pack, the game studio will also bring in tweaks and fixes that will improve the online gaming experience of players.

After that, it will go on to integrate new background music from series like "Boktai" and "Zone of the Enders" to "Metal Gear Online," as well as changes to a couple of weapons.
