Kojima Productions had just rolled out the newest patch for its latest installment of the long-running "Metal Gear Solid" franchise. The November update, patch 1.06 for "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," not only addresses various issues found in-game but has also introduced and unlocked new features for players.

Gamespot noted that one of the features that was tweaked in the new update is that for gamers new to the "MGS" franchise, in-game items such as the Lil' Chick Hat and Chicken Hat will be much easier to get. Meanwhile, there will also be a new "Rookie Assist Function" to the Espionage Ratings tab. With this function on, the feature will prevent Espionage points from being reduced, which are helpful for newbie players who keeps on failing missions.

The hotfix addressed the save data corruption issue that was prevalent in the PS4 version, particularly if there was fluctuating power while the game was on.

In the official update notes by publisher Konami, there is also a list of new items and collectibles in-game that have been unlocked for the updated version of the title. "MGSV: The Phantom Pain" players now have new equipment, weapons, and gear that can be suited for different types of missions.

Those who are into building FOBs can also add security to their bases since the update also introduced defensive devices for forward observer bases. In addition, players can now construct and maintain a third FOB, giving huge advantage in building up player's PF ranking.
