Konami unveiled a new version of the extended demo of Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes during Metal Gear Solid 5's press presentation at Gamescom 2014 in Cologne, Germany.

The game released the first version of the demo at the E3 Expo in California last June.

The first demo showed the improved Fulton recovery system that allows players to get soldiers and other items from the battlefield that they can use for their own offshore base launched in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The players also got a glimpse of the latest equipment that the epic soldier Snake, also known as the Big Boss, uses during the combat.

The new extended demo shown at Gamescom offered the same mission, but the developers decided to showcase several new twists and features associated with the multiplayer-centered Mother Base construction system of the game. It also increased the curiosity of the fans by raising a lot of questions regarding Snake's identity as well as the real intent of his private military group Diamond Dogs moments after the demo ended.

The Gamescom version of Metal Gear Solid 5 extended demo began with Snake riding on a horseback to get to the enemy located somewhere in Afghanistan. Then it showed some of the scenes featured at the E3 version of the demo.

On the other hand, a headline posted on the official website of Konami stated that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes will be available on PC via Stream.

Details about the exact release date are not yet announced, but Metal Gear Solid Director Hideo Kojima mentioned that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be launched first before The Phantom Pain.

For now, players should stay tuned until an official announcement from Kojima or Konami had been made regarding the actual date of release of these highly anticipated games.
