American rock band Metallica has had a very lucrative and successful career, amassing a loyal following by churning out metal music that has stood the test of time. They have become one of rock's biggest icons. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the band remembered their last show with their former dearly departed bassist, Clifford Lee Burton, who died in 1986.

In the interview with Rolling Stone, guitarist Kirk Hammett, and drummer Lars Ulrich, were asked how they felt about listening to tracks with Burton playing in them. The issue was brought up since the band is gearing towards releasing a re-issue of their most successful LP, "Master of Puppets," where Burton played the bass guitar. Both Hammett and Ulrich felt that "Master of Puppets" was a good song with "a lot of emotions" and that it also had an energetic feel.

It was also revealed that Burton's favorite track in his journey with Metallica was "Master of Puppets." In a report by Blabbermouth, Ulrich was asked about his feelings on his last show with Burton in Stockholm, Sweden, on Sept. 26, 1986. Ulrich stated that he felt like he had not reflected on the matter fully. The band losing Burton definitely took a toll on them emotionally, and it seems that even after 31 years, it still gets to them.

The last show with Burton was a great experience for the band, and everyone at the time seemed to agree that they had played well after their performance. In fact, the show was enjoyed by the audience so much that Metallica had to play encores to satiate the demand of fans. According to Rock 107, Hammett felt the same way about the show. However, after the accident, Hammett stated that they felt like they were in a "deep, black pit."

Despite losing Burton, the band still managed to keep moving forward. The re-issue of "Master of Puppets" is now available.
